Welcome

Marsworth Pre-School, held at Marsworth Millennium Hall, is a very popular and successful village pre-school with an outstanding reputation, which attracts children from the village and surrounding area.

We hold pre-school sessions four days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The session times are:-

Morning: 9.00am to 11.30am.  Educational sessions.

Lunch Club: 11.30am to 12.30pm.  Children bring their own packed lunch, once lunch is finished the children are able to watch television or play with the activities set out.

Afternoon: 12.30pm to 3.00pm.   Educational sessions.

We welcome children from the age of 2½ to 5 years. The Pre-school operates on an adult: children ratio of 1:4 for children under 3 and 1:8 for those over 3, as recommended by the Pre-school Learning Alliance.

Fees & Funding

The current fees per session are:

Morning £10 (2.5 hours x £4 per hour)

Lunch Club £3.50

Afternoon £10 (2.5 hours x £4 per hour)

The Pre-School receives funding for all 3 and 4 year olds, i.e. sessions are free.  Children become eligible for this in the term after the one in which their 3rd birthday falls.
A child whose 3rd birthday falls between
1 April – 31 August inclusive, is eligible for funding from 1 September or from the start of the Autumn term
1 September – 31 December inclusive, is eligible for funding from 1 January or from the start of the Spring term
1 January – 31 March inclusive, is eligible for funding from 1 April or from the start of the Summer term

e.g. If the child’s 3rd birthday is 6th January, they are not eligible for funding until the Summer term.

Funding does not currently apply to Lunch Club.

Surrounding Area

We do not have a specific catchment area.  The pre-school is therefore open to children from any of the surrounding villages including Marsworth, Wilstone, Long Marston,  Astrope, Puttenham, Mentmore, Horton, Crafton, Gubblecote, Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Tring, Cheddington, Slapton, Aston Clinton and Ivinghoe Aston.  We also have children attending from as far afield as Aylesbury and Berkhamsted.
